This tutorial presents recent technology of image sensors and their applications to implantable biomedical devices. First, recent trend of image sensors and applications for biomedical devices are introduced. Then, focused on implantable imaging devices, retinal prosthesis, brain activity imaging, glucose sensing, etc. are demonstrated. Finally, future directions of micro-photonic devices including image sensors are discussed.
